Best Portable PA Systems
♥ Best Buy Award
I have to say I really do love the SPA-12BAT from LyxPro.
This portable PA system is the perfect solution for the musician who would like to amplify their sound on the go. The SPA-12BAT comes with 2 wireless microphones, 70-watts of power, 12″ woofer, built in hand-rolling wheels, EQ controls on the back, echo effect knob, and a 1/4″ jack for either a guitar/instrument (or your own wired mic). This means, with the provided wireless microphones, you can plug in a guitar and sing into the mic at the same time. Perfect for street performances or gigs at your local bar, particularly because the battery can last about 4-5 hours. More than enough time.
Besides the incredible features and adaptability of this PA system, the SPA-12BAT also has a high sound quality. I was surprised at how clear and crisp everything sounded. In terms of volume this thing can crank.
Features also include a built-in bluetooth receiver and remote control, if you would like to also use this has a speaker for parties or get-togethers.
ION Audio Tailgater (iPA77)
The ION Audio Tailgaiter is the perfect solution for those who want a versatile, and inexpensive option for a portable PA system.
Features include 50-watt amplifier, bluetooth connectivity, USB port for charging devices, microphone included, 1/8″ aux input, AM/FM radio and screen, and what ION Audio claims is a 50-hour rechargeable battery. We are a bit skeptical about the 50-hour claim, but the Tailgaiter easily has the longest battery life on this list, so if battery longevity is the most important to you – look no further. This won’t get as loud as the SPA-12BAT, but it still has a bit of oomph to it considering its size.
The real application of the Tailgaiter is going to lean towards an audio speaker for parties, and for any announcements that need to be made over a microphone, for example. But if you are a musician (and don’t feel like spending what some of the other portable PA systems cost) and would like to connect an instrument and microphone at the time same, you can buy a 1/4″ splitter and have both connected.
40-watts, blue tooth connectivity, attached wheels, EQ on the back, 2 XLR inputs, 1 RCA input, and a microphone are some of the most prominent features of the Europort. The build as well as sound quality are both very high quality, and did not leave us wanting in the least.
We would have like to have seen a 1/4″ input instead of two XLR inputs, but you can get around this with cable adapters, or by attaching a mixer. Despite being the same price as the SPA-12BAT, we felt the SPA-12BAT has everything a musician needs when it comes to a portable PA system, just giving it the edge for Best Buy over the Europort. But the Europort is a close second nonetheless.
Four 6.5″ speakers, four channels configuration – two channels for mic/instruments plus two channels for stereo inputs, EQ, reverb, delay, anti-feedback technology, make this a mini beast of a portable PA system. The BA-330 can both be plugged in and powered by AA batteries. It’s the only portable PA system on this list that is powered by external batteries – some will hate that, some will love it. We would have liked to have seen a provided onboard battery source, particularly for being the most expensive system on the list.
But despite that, the BA-330 is easily the most customizable, and fully loaded portable PA system on the list.
