Rio Rio

With punchy synth and ethereal vocals, Rio Rio (comprised of: Todd Huguenor: Vocals ; Josh Collopy: Guitar ; Ian de Borja: Keys; Alex Cohen: Bass & Keys; Sean Corcran: Drums), are taking over one ear at a time with their debut-EP, Light Parade. A similar sound to WALK THE MOON and Two Door Cinema Club, the San Francisco quintet write addictive music that is sure to set the mood for a fun time, whether blasting at a house party or live in concert.

Since the bands EP release, they have been featured on KX 93.5 in Laguna Beach/Los Angeles and on Live 105’s Soundcheck with Aaron Axelsen, which named the group one of 10 Bay Area Bands That We Love And So Should You.

Playing northern California venues such as,  Brick & Mortar, the New Parish, Monarch, and  the Blank Club, the band has most recently opened up for  Wildcat! Wildcat! at Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco.

Light Parade

Light Parade is a spectacular balance of lighthearted entertainment and genuine substance.  Todd Huguenor’s vocals during the verses of Gorilla Gorilla and The Bashful and The Brave demand the listener’s full attention while leading you into a hook-laden and dance-epic chorus.

Sneaky Sunday, fourth on the EP, is slightly more guitar reliant, and contains riffs similar to that of recent Jimmy Eat World, while still maintaining Rio Rio’s individual tone.

Last Flight, the final track of the EP, contains a more mature solemnity, a removel from the bands typical dance insignia. While still maintaining a pop feel, the lyrics are some of the most serious of the EP, with a guitar solo that delivers colossal depth and an edginess that accompanies the story of the song immensely.

The Future

Despite being relatively new to the music scene, Rio Rio have made a mark on the indie-dance realm.  A genre that contains the likes of Phoenix, Passion Pit and The Naked and Famous, Rio Rio ensures that the hynoptic allure of indie-dance will live on for many years to come.

Rio Rio is currently working on new material and hope to record a new release sometime (hopefully early) next year.
